Sarah & Killian — A Vineyard Wedding in the Heart of Puglia
“I had always dreamed about getting married in a vineyard in Italy.”
For Sarah e Killian, the search ended the moment they saw Masseria Amastuola. “We fell in love with it as soon as we laid eyes on it,” the bride remembers. The interiors, the view over the vineyards and the warmth of the staff made the decision an easy one — and on the 17th of September 2024, the couple celebrated here with 70 of their closest family and friends, all of whom had travelled from Ireland.
Three days on the estate
What made the celebration feel less like a wedding and more like a gathering was time. The couple and their guests stayed on the estate for three days, turning a single day into a proper Puglian escape. It began the evening before, with a wine tasting among the vines — an experience guests still talk about — and unfolded across the courtyards, the terrace and the eighteen restored rooms of the masseria.
“Our guests really enjoyed being on site for three days,” Isobel says. “They were so impressed by the accommodation and the architecture.”
A sunset that stayed with them
September in Puglia brought a little rain on the wedding day. Then it cleared — and gave the couple the moment they both remember best.
“When the rain cleared, we got to enjoy an amazing sunset on the terrace with our loved ones. This will always be my favourite part of our day.”
It is the kind of thing a vineyard setting does well: open sky, the valley below, and a view that turns gold as the light drops.
The food, the wine, the welcome
Ask the couple what their guests are still raving about, and the answer comes quickly: the food and the wine.
“Guests were blown away by the food,” Isobel says. And the estate’s own organic wines left their mark too — the Ondarosa in particular. “The Ondarosa is delicious!!” As a wine resort, Amastuola pours what it grows, and the wine tasting the night before the wedding became one of the trip’s highlights in its own right.
Throughout, it was the team that tied everything together. “The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of,” the couple recall. Asked how they would describe their day in a few words, Sarah’s answer was simple: relaxed, organised and special.
“We cannot wait to return”
“Masseria Amastuola will forever hold a special place in our hearts,” Isobel says, “and we cannot wait to return and relive the magic again.”
When we asked what they would have changed, the reply was the one every venue hopes for: “None — we loved it!”
